The eighth story. Nineteen years later.
If you follow me on Instagram – @KatieScarlettBlog – you will have been thoroughly spammed with images of our recent trip to London to see THE HARRY POTTER PLAY!
Sam and I booked tickets to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child in 2015, and were so worried about spending a year and a half dodging spoilers! However everyone has been so good at keeping the secrets, and we got to London on Wednesday with absolutely no idea what to expect!
The Palace Theatre looks phenomenal decked out in all its HP glory. We settled in our seats for Part 1, and were not disappointed! The whole production was totally and utterly magical. I’m obviously not going to go into details as I don’t want to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen the plays or read the book yet (#keepthesecrets) but I can tell you I laughed, I screamed, I wept, and I was totally spellbound. We couldn’t get back to the theatre quick enough to see how it all ends in Part 2!
If you are a Potter fan this play is an absolute MUST. But even if you’re not, the staging and effects really are a cut above anything I’ve ever seen. I would recommend getting up to speed with the original books before seeing the plays – the program does give you a little background but I do think you need to have a handle of the back story to follow the storyline.
I’d love to hear what you thought if you’ve seen the play too!
