My top tips for easy beach waves!

waves

I have previously never been one to embrace my naturally wavy hair, however I’ve made a pact this year to leave my hair au natural more often – not least to give it a break from the daily heat styling it’s been subjected to for the last decade!

However, as most people with natural curls will know, you cannot simply just leave your hair be as it will immediately become a frizzy mess. So here are my top tips for embracing your natural waves!

1. LEAVE IT ALONE

If you have naturally curly or wavy hair is so tempting after washing to give it a scrunch and play with it while it’s drying in an attempt to increase volume and enhance your curls and waves, however this is the worst possible thing you can do!! This will make the chances of your hair becoming a frizz-fest much greater, so instead just leave it to do it’s thang.

2. DO THE TWIST

If you don’t have naturally curly hair, or want to give your curls a little bit of extra definition, The Twist from FASHIONATION is the best tip I’ve found online! It’s a totally natural, heat-free and SIMPLE way to perfect beachy waves. Simply part your hair after washing, twist each side, pin and leave to dry.

3. SALT SPRAY IS YOUR BEST FRIEND

To give your waves a little rejuvenation and improve definition, salt spray is an absolute godsend. I’ve tried loads of different salt sprays of varying prices and they all give largely the same results, so there’s absolutely no need to break the bank and go for the most expensive salt spray on the market.

Here’s to a wavy 2017!
