Essential Autumn Lip Colours

Autumn (or Fall if you live across the pond) is my absolute favourite time of year in general, but also for fashion and beauty! I love the autumnal hues in clothing and cosmetics, and these three lipstick shades are guaranteed to see you through Autumn and Winter in style!

I have been a fan of the NYX lipsticks for a while – they are great quality products that don’t break the bank – and I have NYX Butter and NYX Matte lipsticks in various hues. However a new season seemed like the perfect excuse to try a new lipstick! As I have been so impressed with my previous NYX lipsticks I decided to stick with this brand, but try a different range. Especially for this time of year I like lipsticks with high pigmentation that are really going to make an impact, so the NYX High Voltage Lipstick  range seemed perfect!

There are 22 gorgeous colours to choose from, and I opted for my favourite autumnal three. Wine and Dine is a lovely deep berry red, perfect to take you through Autumn to the festive season! Nude lipsticks are a makeup bag essential, and this summer I have been living in NYX Butter Lipstick in the shade POPS. However I love the slightly darker pinky-nude hue of Flutter Kisses for this time of year. And finally Dahlia is a dramatic dark purple, perfect for adding a sultry edge to evening outfits!

The lipsticks have a lovely creamy texture which makes application a dream, and they have a glossy finish. The high pigmentation ensures a deep, even application of colour that really stays put – which often isn’t the case for lipsticks with a shiny finish.

What’s your go-to shade for AW16?
