I am very very picky when it comes to mascara! I want length and volume, and brush that isn’t going to glue all of my lashes together. I’ve tried lots of mascaras that give great length but no volume whatsoever, which I don’t like at all.
One of my favourite mascaras for a long time has been MaxFactor False Lash Effect. Unlike some – especially cheaper – mascaras, it isn’t too thick, so doesn’t make your lashes stick together or look clumpy, but it does mean you have to apply 3 or 4 layers if you want plenty of volume. And the large brush catches all your lashes making them look lovely and long! I used to swear by this mascara, and often used to use it in the place of falsies for a night out! However it is a little on the pricey side (£10.99) so I thought I’d see if I could find a budget product that does the job just as well!
I went for a product with the most similar brush I could find, and opted for Miss Sporty Pump Up Lash Booster Mascara, which is an absolute steal at £3.99! It comes in bright purple packaging, so you can’t miss it on the shelves! The mascara is slightly thicker than the MaxFactor, but not so thick that it sticks all your lashes together. This means you get great volume without having to apply as many layers as with the MaxFactor. The brush is very similar to MaxFactor too, and gives fab length and catches all of your lashes.
Verdict: I was so impressed with the Miss Sporty mascara! It performs just as well – if not even better – than the MaxFactor, and it is now my mascara of choice! (And it saves you pennies, which is always a bonus!)
