Sant Martí d’Empúries is a stunning town in Costa Brava, Spain. The town really does have something for everyone – there are Roman ruins to explore, pretty houses, winding streets, a beautiful sandy beach and delicious restaurants to boot.
I love wandering through little towns and discovering beautiful buildings and secret spots, and the old town of Sant Martí is perfect for this. The winding streets and flower-covered walls are completely charming and I could have spent all day getting lost in them!
In the town square outside the Church of Sant Martí d’Empúries, there are three gorgeous restaurants all serving completely delicious food. Our favourite is L’esculapi – we make sure we go there every time we’re in Spain! Between us we had fois ravioli, anchovy bruschetta, seafood spaghetti, tempura shrimp, octopus, goats cheese salad, and finished off with the most dreamy crepes!
As well as exploring the little town, Sant Martí has a beautiful sandy beach if you want to relax and soak up the sun. I am such a beach baby and love nothing more than splashing around in the sea, and when the sea is as warm and clear as it is here it’s irresistible!
I love visiting Sant Martí every time we pop to Spain, and each time there’s been something new to discover! It’s the perfect little day trip if you are in Costa Brava.
