October has been an absolutely jam-packed month (hence the lack of posts recently…apologies!)
It kicked off with the end of the Dryathlon – I spent the month of September booze-free and am so proud to have raised over £450 for Cancer Research UK! On October 1 I celebrated accordingly with a party in my little flat! I had all the house party essentials – photo booth, prosecco station – and had the best evening celebrating my month of sobriety (and my impending birthday!)
The next weekend I popped back down South to spend the weekend with my beautiful friends from University, and to celebrate the christening of Clare’s baby boy Benjamin! Clare is the first of our little group to get married and start a family – which we all agree is so strange and grown up! – but Clare is a natural and seems like she’s got motherhood totally down! And it was the first time I have met little Benji, who is an absolute angel 👼🏼!
(At the christening party I also managed to make a complete spectacle of myself by ripping my skirt all the way up the back in front of all of Clare’s family, but that’s another story..!🙈)
I then spent a lovely relaxing weekend in the Yorkshire countryside continuing learning to ride! My friend Caleigh lives on a little farm with loads of horsies, and I love visiting and learning the ropes! This time we went on a 90 minute hack, and I rode the gorgeous Jester all on my own!
And finally this weekend I performed with my wonderful Sirens and Matrix at the Out Of This World festival in Sheffield. Every year we do a really fun superhero themed performance, and I love seeing everyone in the audience making such an effort with their costumes and having a great time!
It was also my birthday eve, so had the perfect excuse to celebrate all together afterwards!
October 24th was my 27th birthday (and I am actually starting to feel a little bit old! But that may just be aches and pains of dancing in the cold all weekend!) I had a lovely day eating myself silly with brunch, afternoon tea and a lovely dinner with Sam. For my birthday I am trying to learn to ski so I can keep up with Sam’s family (who are all pretty much pro-skiers!) when we go away next year, so have got some snazzy new ski gear and some ski lessons lined up! I’ll let you know how they go..!
And of course you will have seen regular updates of Colin just being generally adorable 😻!
