It’s been a whole year since my first Insta-Monthly post, and I’ve only just realised that every month I’ve been presenting you with a bunch of pictures with absolutely no context! I also don’t write the longest descriptions on Instagram, so figured it would make sense to give a little debrief of my monthly antics in blog form!
First and foremost, September 2016 was spent entirely sober! I took part in the Dryathlon to raise money for Cancer Research UK. I have two very good friends at work who were diagnosed with terminal cancer this year. There is really not much anyone can do to make this situation better for the people involved, but I could certainly give up booze for a month and raise some money for a fantastic charity to help fund research to one day beat this disease. In the end I was so pleased to have raised over £400 for the charity, and discovered some lovely new booze-free treats along the way, such as this scrumptious virgin Forest Fruit Fling from our favourite pizza restaurant Craft & Dough (who also made the adorable – and scrumptious! – pizza flowers above).
And as Autumn arrived and the weather turned there was of course TEA. SO MUCH TEA. ☕️
With Autumn weather also comes Autumn fashion (my faaave!) I have SO many lovely new items to show you, and here are three of my favourites. Firstly, this adorable Mickey and Minnie Mouse badge print sweater (£12.00, Primark) is so snuggly and soft! It’s a little short in the body so I like to team it with a white collared longline blouse and jeans or leggings.
I am also OBSESSING over metallics at the moment, and am in love with these beautiful rose gold sneakers (£8.00, Primark). They add such a nice finish to ANY outfit – jeans, dresses, skirts…
I have also been seeing these gorgeous metallic pleated midi skirts eeverywhere, and had to get my hands on one! This silver skirt (£35.00, V by Very) looks great teamed with a plain t-shirt and long necklace, or an oversized jumper on chillier days.
This month I was also was lucky enough to get my first DSLR, which has seriously improved my photo game! I have loved getting used to using it (mostly by taking pictures of Colin…)
And while we’re on the subject of Colin, Sam’s friend Ben is so in love with our little munch that he got his very only teeny tiny black and white kitty, and has also named him Colin! 😹
