The first Birchbox of Autumn has arrived on my doorstep, and it’s a good’un!
The full-size sample is the ModelCo Highlighting Trio. On first impressions, the product looks great. It’s a lovely, soft, shimmery cream in three shades – a pale nude, a pink blush and a rich copper/bronze. I have been on the hunt for a quality highlighter for a while and am excited to see how this one fares!
Next up is a little 30ml bottle of amika Bombshell Blowout Spray. I love a good blow dry, and this little spritz claims to add volume and texture, whilst nourishing and smoothing your hair. I quite often blow dry my hair without using any specific products – just a little heat protection and smoothing balm – so I’m looking forward to seeing if it is worth investing in a product specifically for this use.
I am usually so impressed with the facial skincare products that come in my monthly Birchbox, and this month’s sample is the Hydrabio Serum from Bioderma. I have notoriously dry skin and usually prefer to use creamy products to give my face a little hydrating boost. Being a serum, this product doesn’t have that creamy texture I love, and doesn’t give the immediate feeling of hydration that creams usually do. However it says to apply twice daily, and to follow with moisturiser if you fancy, so I’m going to do this for a week or so to see if this product also gives me that much needed hydration boost!
Next up is the Nuxe Prodigieux Shower Oil. This product is a gold shimmery gel with a divine, warm spicy scent! I’m so looking forward to adding a little luxury to my shower with this lovely!
The final product in my Birchbox is Nailtiques Protein Formula 2. After years of using acrylics (don’t do it!!) my nails are notoriously flakey and ALWAYS split. This formula is packed with keratin, protein and calcium and claims to bond the layers of your nails together to stop peeling and splitting. If this product can save my nails, it can save anyones!
