I am loving shirt dresses at the moment! They are just an absolutely effortless item of clothing – you can throw one on when you’re short on time and still look like you’ve made an effort; they are so easy to dress up or down and there are so many different shapes, styles, prints and patterns out there that there is something to suit absolutely everyone!

Here are some of my favourites from the British High Street this season:

1. Night Out  I’ve only recently discovered Fashion Union, after nabbing a few of their dresses in the Next Sale. It’s a fab line  with on trend pieces at pocket money prices, and now that I’ve discovered the brand I’m seeing it EVERYWHERE – Lipsy, Very, New Look, ASOS…I’d definitely recommend checking them out if you haven’t already!

This gorgeous bold floral print and splash of yellow would look fab teamed with black heels and a matching clutch for perfect party-wear!

2. Work Wear I think Miss Selfridge might be my favourite high street shop; there’s always something I can throw my money at when I’m in there! I love this sleek, sophisticated take on the shirt dress, which would be perfect for sprucing up your work wardrobe!

3. Rainy Day  This long-sleeved shirt dress will transition perfectly from Summer to Autumn/Winter wear. I love the colour-blocking aspect, and the contrasting paisley print. It looks gorgeous with ballet pumps and dare-to-bare legs, and can be dressed down with tights and ankle boots for colder days. Team with a cute floppy hat to protect your hair in the rain!

4. Summer Festival I absolutely adore this little chambray number from Miss Selfridge! It’s the perfect casual summer shirt dress, and looks fab teamed with a floral headband and cute flats.

It’s also so versatile, and would be a gorgeous little number for festivals, garden parties and general daywear, and could even be smartened up for a day at the office!

5. Special Occasion

Patterned shirt dresses like this lovely (also Miss Selfridge!) are so easy to dress up for special occasions! Simply add heels and a hair accessory or headpiece and you are wedding-guest ready! And they can also integrate perfectly into your everyday wardrobe!

  1. Miss Selfridge Paisley Print Shirt Dress – £39.00
  2. Accessorize Mariah Crin Bow Fascinator – £25.00
  3. Topshop Gallop Patent Court Shoes – £59.00

What are you loving wearing this season?

I love the way you’ve done this post. I do posts of things I am obsessed with and I put it under the ‘I want’ category on my blog like kimonos. This post has made me feel like I could improve those much more. Thank you! And I love shirt dresses too. They are simple and easy to style since you don’t have to pair it with much 🙂
